Jupiter Research Foundation

The Jupiter Research Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit scientific research organization. Established in 2003, the Foundation is dedicated to developing and applying new technologies for monitoring and understanding the natural world and sharing them with the public and the academic community.

When these studies result in embodiments that have commercial value they may be pursued via appropriate joint ventures or the spin-off of independent commercial companies. One such venture resulted in the founding of Liquid Robotics, Inc. in 2007 (www.LiquidR.com).

We are currently engaged in five areas of research: Humpback Whale Song ; Instrumentation for Oceanic Studies ; The Magellan Project – Wave-Powered Circumnavigation of the Earth; The Electrical Behavior of Plants.

To watch a wonderful home-style movie on how Jupiter began, helped develop the Wave Glider and launched Liquid Robotics Inc.
